ROMERO DE ÁVILA SALCEDO

The Crown Jewel

Romero de Ávila Salcedo is our emblem, our brand, and our family name. A tribute to the centuries of history of our winemaking lineage. A crest from 1598, still preserved in the winery, tells the story of our family's long journey.

Our passion and respect for history inspired us to honor the knowledge that has guided our family for generations. A perfect blend of five grape varieties pays tribute to the craftsmanship passed down over time.

Traditional Vinification

Each grape variety is vinified separately to fully express the climatic characteristics that shape them. Fermentation takes place in amphoras, followed by 12 months of aging. The wines are then aged for 15 months in 225-liter French and American oak barrels. Finally, the wine is refined for an additional two years in the bottle before being released to the market.

Artisan Craftsmanship

From the very beginning, every detail of cultivation, vinification, and aging is carried out by hand, with dedication and meticulous care, making each bottle a small work of art

The Art of the Blend

A meticulously crafted from Tempranillo, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.

Tempranillo brings a fruity and aromatic expression to the wine. Syrah adds depth and complexity. Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structured and pleasant acidity. Merlot provides softness and elegant tannins, while Petit Verdot enhances power and texture. A unique blend that refines in barrels until reaching perfect balance.

The Art of Aging

Patience and craftsmanship define this wine’s journey. Aged for 12 months in amphoras, followed by an additional 15 months in French and American oak barrels, it develops a perfect balance between tradition and sophistication.

A Deep, Refined Expression

In the visual phase, this is a deeply concentrated wine with a high layer, offering an intense, opaque appearance. It displays a clean and bright cherry-red color. On the nose, it stands out for its remarkable complexity, balancing fruit and oak, with notes of raisins, figs, toasted nuances, and balsamic hints, complemented by delicate floral undertones. On the palate, it boasts great structure, with silky, elegant tannins that enhance its overall harmony.

Unlocking Its Full Potential

Between 16°C and 18°C. Due to its extended aging in barrels, we recommend oxygenating or decanting before serving.

Perfect Pairings

Pairs perfectly with the country's finest dishes, especially red meats and aged cheeses.
