TERRAS DE LASTRA
A Journey to New Horizons
Our journey in search of new horizons, driven by the passion of a new generation, brought us to the slopes of Valdeorras, a privileged setting in the heart of Galicia, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and a winemaking legacy that spans millennia.
In this unique environment, among ancient terraces and slate-rich soils, our commitment was born: to preserve the region’s viticultural wealth while exploring new ways to interpret it.
New Horizons
Antonio Romero de Ávila, part of the new generation of the winery, discovered the Godello grape during a trip to Galicia as part of an extracurricular activity while pursuing his university studies.
The special bond he formed with his enology professor, Manuel Losada, whose experiences and stories captivated him, made these trips increasingly frequent.
All of this sparked in Antonio a deep interest in this grape variety, as well as in the region and its people.
Thus began his professional journey three years ago. Today, Antonio presents his first creation: Terras da Lastra.

Terras da Lastra is a white wine made from Godello grapes, sourced from vineyards in the Valdeorras region. These vines, planted on slopes rich in granite and slate, thrive at over 700 meters of altitude.
The harvest took place during the first week of September, in the early morning hours. It was a manual harvest with careful grape selection in the vineyard. The grapes, still fresh from the morning dew, were transported in 20 kg crates to the winery.
For its production, after the harvest and manual selection, the juice obtained from a gentle pressing underwent cold maceration for 16 hours, followed by low-temperature fermentation to enhance the variety’s characteristic aromas.
The wine then rested on its lees for 4 months, with weekly bâtonnage, before spending an additional 3 months in the bottle to achieve perfect roundness on the palate.
Grape Variety
Single-varietal wine made from Godello grapes.
Winemaking
Harvested in crates. Cold maceration for 16 hours, followed by low-temperature fermentation to enhance all the aromas of the variety.
Aging Process
Aged on fine lees for 4 months with weekly bâtonnage. A second aging period of at least 3 months in the bottle at the winery.
Tasting Notes
In appearance, it presents a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections, clean and bright.
On the nose, it unfolds intense aromas with pure varietal expression, highlighting ripe white fruits and stone fruits, accompanied by notes of wildflowers, citrus, and balsamic hints.
On the palate, it is remarkably fresh and creamy, with well-balanced acidity, great personality, and a long aromatic persistence. Stone fruit flavors stand out, complemented by a subtle balsamic touch with hints of anise and fennel. The finish is elegant, dominated by a fruity and mineral sensation.
Serving Temperature
To fully appreciate its freshness and aromatic complexity, serve fresh, between 8°C and 10°C.
Gastronomic Pairing
Perfect for gastronomic enjoyment, thanks to the depth of nuances developed during its lees aging. Its freshness and distinctive character make it an ideal pairing for rice dishes and pasta with creamy sauces, as well as fish, seafood, and hearty spoon dishes.
