The Fourth Child
The old vineyard is witness to the passing of time, to the maturity reached by the wines that are born from it and the evolution of Bodegas Romero de Ávila Salcedo.
The vineyards planted by our grandparents are witnesses to our history. Keeping the family tradition alive is our tribute to generations passed.
The value of the old vines is the balance in production. They are vines adapted to the climate and soils, which do not suffer too many vintage variations as their roots are much stronger and deeper, which allows them to reach a greater quantity of nutrients and water resources.

These characteristics result in more balanced and structured wines, with intense and complex aromas in the fruit of the vine. From the vineyard, we understand the soil and listen to the wine.
This wine is only made in exceptional vintages, those that, due to their climatological characteristics, guarantee a high potential for long aging in barrel and bottle.
It is made from the Tempranillo, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties, individually fermented and aged for twelve months in amphoras. It has a long aging, twenty months in 225 liters French and American oak barrels, followed by twelve months in the bottle.
In order to maintain all its expression, Testigo (meaning Witness) is not subjected to stabilization processes, so we recommend decanting before serving to separate possible natural sediments.
A wine with great aging capacity, elegant and refined, which will surely witness many unforgettable moments.

Tasting notes
Only crafted in exceptional years, Testigo is truly expressive on the nose with great complexity and a style full of finesse and elegance. The wine reveals perfumed notes of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, alongside black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, and cassis. Hints of spices, licorice, and clove are also present. On the palate, a bounty of juicy, ripe red fruits come through cherry and plum while finishing with a dense, plush core of dark chocolate and mocha.
The mouthfeel is rich and velvety with fine-grained tannins that seamlessly integrate with the fresh acidity while adding layers of complexity and balance. Well-integrated notes of vanilla and toasted oak spices, heighten the aromas and contribute to the length and elegant finish.
To enjoy this wine at its full potential, we recommend decanting before drinking.
